02Understanding and supporting brain function
When one symptom has more than one possible cause.
The brain does not work in isolation, and neither should the people evaluating it. Brain health at Mind & Mirror Effect means looking at cognition, sleep, mood, movement, hearing, balance and recovery as related parts of one system, and collaborating with physical therapists and other providers when a concern crosses disciplines.
What this covers
Cognition, healthy brain aging, QEEG and neurofeedback, and complex concerns like tinnitus, migraine and balance that may benefit from looking beyond a single system.

01
Brain Health & Cognition
Attention, memory, mental clarity and healthy brain aging, evaluated in the context of sleep, mood, medical history and lifestyle.

02
QEEG & Neurofeedback confirm availability
Quantitative EEG measures patterns of electrical activity across the brain. It can add information to a larger clinical assessment; it does not diagnose on its own. Neurofeedback uses that information for guided training.
- What it measures
- QEEG records electrical activity from the scalp and compares patterns of brain rhythms against reference data. The result is often called a brain map.
- Why it may be considered
- A map can add one more perspective when attention, mood, sleep, cognition or recovery are being evaluated. It is information, not a verdict.
- How it fits
- Findings are interpreted alongside history, examination and other evaluation. A brain map alone does not diagnose a condition.
- What to expect
- Sensors are placed on the scalp for a recording session that is painless and non-invasive. Neurofeedback, when used, involves guided sessions that give real-time feedback about brain activity.

Tinnitus, Migraine & Balance
Investigation, collaboration and individualized planning for concerns that rarely have a single cause, including tinnitus, migraine, dizziness, balance, vestibular and proprioceptive difficulties.
- Investigation
- A careful history and evaluation that looks beyond a single system: hearing and the inner ear, the brain, sleep, mood, stress, medication, movement and posture.
- Collaboration
- Where it helps, Dr. Dawson works alongside physical therapists and other providers so the plan is coordinated rather than fragmented.
- Individualized planning
- No two cases look the same, so no two plans do. The aim is a clearer picture and practical next steps, not a promise of a cure.

Supporting Brain Recovery
After injury, illness or a hard season of life, the brain’s capacity to adapt is real. Care focuses on understanding function and supporting it responsibly.
A healthy brain is a flexible brain.
Every evaluation at Mind & Mirror Effect starts with the individual, looks at contributing factors from more than one discipline, and ends with a plan that is realistic for one person’s life. Education is part of care: understanding what is happening is the first step to changing it.
